Kyrgyz Parliament considering homophobic ‘anti-propaganda’ law

On March 26, the Kyrgyz Parliament published a draft bill, proposing to impose tough sanctions for anyone speaking or acting in a way that creates “a positive attitude toward nontraditional sexual relations”.

LGBT rights in Ukraine closely scrutinised as European Parliament consents to easier visa rules

Today the European Parliament gave its binding consent to easier visa rules for Ukrainian citizens. Members of the European Parliament had expressed serious concern about two homophobic draft laws, insisting the EU shouldn’t turn a blind eye to human rights abuses.

MEPs speak out against homophobic and transphobic censorship laws in Russia

The Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg is about to adopt a new law banning the “propaganda of sodomy, lesbianism, bisexualism and transgenderism” to minors, including in public. Members of the European Parliament have repeated their opposition to censorship.
