Albanian Minister calls for homophobic violence, admonished by Prime Minister
Albania’s Deputy Defense Minister recently called to homophobic violence against Albanian citizens planning to organise the country’s first LGBT pride march in spring. He was swiftly rebuked by the Prime Minister.

European Parliament calls on Nigeria to stop persecuting LGBT people
Yesterday the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation in Nigeria, following widespread violence and a worrying economic situation. The resolution also condemns current legal threats to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons.

New enlargement reports: Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina should do more for LGBT rights
The European Parliament adopted its annual progress reports on the accession of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Both countries are invited to do more for LGBT people’s human rights before they may join the EU.

Free movement: European Parliament calls for respect of succession rights
